Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MI National Freight Consortium's beleagured express parcels subsidiary National Carriers-Roadline has ordered over E5 million worth of new trucks and vans.

The new vehicles include 175 Iveco Ford and Leyland 7.5-tonners and 28 Ford Transits. NC-R is investing a further El million in a mix of 'Leyland and Volvo drawbar trailer units with demountable bodies to provide additional flexibility on inter-branch trunking operations.

Managing director Graham Roberts says the vehicles, together with the 80 tractive units acquired at the end of last year, will give NC-R one of the youngest fleets in the industry: "This is all part of our major investment programme to upgrade the company's operations and make NC-R one of Britain's leading express delivery services," he says. NC-R is soon to announce a new name for the company as part of a major marketing push to help return it to profitability.

LI NC-R, the UK partner of Euro Express, has introduced a 24-hour express delivery service to West Germany, Benelux and France in addition to its regular 48/96-hour service to 14 West European countries. The new guaranteed 24-hour door-to-door service will be available through all NC-R UK branches, coordinated through the Euro Express centre in Dartford.

Euro Express has also won a major contract from ICI to transport chemicals, plastics, pharmaceuticals, computers and machinery spares between 45 Western Europe locations, using the company's moneyback guaranteed 48-hour doorto-door delivery as well as the new 24-hour service.
