FOUR Merseyside haulage cor panies have agreed a cm.; basic wage rate for drivers of tonne lorries.
Transport and Gener Workers' Union officer Bc Robinson confirmed on Month that he had written agreemen from four unnamed companil in the region to pay a £7.: supplement on the basic 40-ho rate. The 50-hour guarantm week agreement there meal that this takes a driver minimum pay to £139.25 for 3 tanners.
Mr Robinson has submitted claim for a similar agreeme with the other hauliers repr sented by the collective neg tiating group on Merseysid and was awaiting their reply we closed for press.
