Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Charles Babbage, Bracket

Babbage, of Llanishen, Cardiff. He says that rapid disintegration of the rubber parts of the propeller shaft centre bearing brackets on BMC 7-tonners is often experienced when the vehicle is engaged on tipping work. This has been successfully overcome by bolting a 0-25 in. plate, 2-5-in, wide, to the crossmember to cover both hearing housing and brackets and locate them securely to the cross-member. Modified chassis, says Mr. Babbage, have been in service for two years, whereas previous brackets had lasted an average of only three months. Comments Handyman: This idea has merit; I, too, have experienced this early failure.
