Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A LLEGATIONS by a customer wit

ness at Birmingham on Wednesday that he had experienced great difficulty in obtaining vehicles from the British Road Services Tamworth depot to carry industrial bricks were denied by BRS.

The witness—Mr. J. R. Ford, works manager of Wilnecote Brick Co. Ltd.— was giving evidence on behalf of S. Washington of Tamworth, who was applying to transfer four vehicles on Contract A licence to B licence.•

There were objections by BRS and British Railways. After completion of the evidence an agreement was reached and the application granted with amended conditions. These were Bricks for Baggeridge Brick Co.; building insulation blocks for Baggeridge Lightweight Products Ltd.; bricks in part loads for Wilnecote Brick Co. within 120 miles."

Mr. Ford said in evidence that BRS would not take traffic involving local runs and that he had to wait for as long as two weeks for them to collect a part load. Even with ordinary traffic, there were occasions when the Tamworth depot had to be telephoned three or four times a day to secure a vehicle.

Mr. A. E. Hobbs, BRS manager at Tamworth, said that until the end of last year his vehicles had carried 200 or 300 tons a month for Wilnecote Brick without complaint. Given reasonable notice the depot could always supply vehicles to this firm within a reasonable time.
