C ASTELLATED '4-0 fitments for the secure carriage of
bicycles arc arranged longitudinally in a van built by Neville industries ( Mansfield) Ltd. for the Midland Motor Co. (Nottingham) Ltd. and illustrated here. The body is constructed from special Neville inverted U sections, in which sides and roof are integral, and has a capacity of 1,500 cu. ft. The floor is in timber and the front section of the van is panelled in glass-fibre plastics.
Rear closure is by tailboard": and roller shutter and the body is mounted on a Bedford TK with 3 ft. 6 in. chassis extension. Unladen weight is just over 4+ tons.
Birmingham Observer Corps: The establishment of a vehicle observer corps operating in six Voluntarily staffed areas to assist in the recovery of stolen lorries is being considered in Birmingham next week.
