LIKE Mr Hedgcock (CM, June 13) I also have had problems with Michelin radial tyres blowing out. Three new tyres blew on an
elderly Bedford TK in the spec of 12 months and were s damaged that it was impossibl to ascertain the cause.
But just before one tyre ble the vehicle was about to b stopped by a motorway patr car because of a bulge on th inside of the front tyre. Exce sive speed, overloading an kerbing were definitely ruled ou and separation was suspected
This was confirmed when o routine inspection another tyr was found to have a finger bulg due to separation. This tyre wa lost by the distributors and wit it all hope of claiming compe sation for the three previou tyres.
Michelin and their representa tives were most unhelpful an would not in any way believ that it could be their fault.
