Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE DRAMATIC drop in the number of new psv registrations this year is showing little signs of recovery despite the start of the first deregulated coaching season.

According to the latest figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) for June, only 321 new psv were registered in June against 545 for the same period the previous year. Of these, only 57 were imported chassis.

Total psv registrations up to the present time are 2,695 (3,576 for the first six months of 1980).

Top-selling manufacturer is Leyland Bus, which accounted for 1,335 of the registrations so far this year; and top importer is Volvo with 223 imported chassis registered this year.
