N increasing number of road authorities, both in the United Kingdom and overseas, are choosing rubber in their construction and repair programmes, 'according to the annual report of the Natural Rubber Development Board. In the past year, 91 sections of rubberized road have been laid in Malaya, Australia and Britain. One road in Birmingham and two in Glasgow have been surfaced with rubberized carpets after successful experiments carried out at a bus stop in Birmingham six years ago.
