25 prohibitions in five years A BREAKDOWN in its driver defect-reporting system has led to a Forfar operator having a vehicle suspended for three weeks.

Alan W Davie & Partners, which holds an international licence for 15 vehicles and 23 trailers, appeared before Scottish Traffic Commissioner Joan Aitken at an Edinburgh disciplinary inquiry, Aitken heard that the firm's vehicles had picked up 11 immediate, 12 delayed and two variation prohibitions over the past five years.

It added that steps had been taken to put the deficiencies right, such as introducing a fleet renewal programme. An arrangement had been made with Travel Dundee for roller brake testing and transport manager Alan Davie Junior would be playing a much more active role.

The TC concluded that the firm could now be trusted to pay the necessary attention to its licence undertakings.
