coaches rose from 40p to last June, but Gwent County Council successfully challenged Transport Secretary Nicholas Ridley in the High Court over the new prices for the bridge. As a result the Government had to reinstate the old level of tolls on December 12.
But now Ridley has lodged his appeal. He says that he acted within his powers under the Severn Bridge Tolls Act
