Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Bolt Saver

THE usual method of reconditioning the threads of a damaged bolt is by means of a die nut. A device which offers certain advantages as compared with the die-nut method is the Edwards Bolt Saver

Made of tool steel, this useful workshop equipment is in the form of a number of split dies to take bolts of different diameters. Whereas a die nut performs its duty by cutting, the Bolt Saver re-forms the thread without loss of metal, the resultant fit of the nut being greatly improved as compared with the use of a die-nut.

The standard model available covers B.S.F. threads from 1-in. to 1-in. ha 1/16-in., and 1-in. Models shortly to be made available will cover Whitworth and American threads. The B.S.F. model costs £2 3s. 6d. and the maker is Lawrence Edwards and Co.. Commercial Buildings, Kidderminster.
