ANUMBER of meetings took place this week concerning steel supplies to the motor industry. Individual manufacturers have been told of their steel allotments and are working out their output programmes.
The materials committee of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders studied the steel question on Monday and the council of the S.M.M.T. was due to review the position later in the week. The National Advisory Council for the Motor Industry met at the Ministry of Supply on Tuesday and its views will be forwarded to the Government.
