Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CARTWRIGHT, THE Cheshire-based trailer-maker, will open two more sites on the east side of the UK in the next six months in order to meet rising demand in the rental market.

Cartwright Rentals already has three rental sites in Altrincham. Avonmouth and Northampton, and has 8,000 trailers for hire. The two new sites, one in the SouthEast and the second in the North-East, will house around 800 trailers, potentially expanding the fleet by 10%, Director Steven Cartwright believes the rental market will only go one way in 2010, as it reflects the changing nature of the logistics industry. "The large logistics operators aren't getting the commitment from their customers for a 12-month contract, they aren't going to spend money on a trailer for that," he says. "Eightypounds a week is an easy decision [to rent], £20.000 to buy a [new] trailer isn't."

Operators turning to rental dried up some long-established customer revenue streams, but hire has opened new doors.

-It has bought about new sales, some customers didn't buy last year, but we have picked up four or five new customers with new trailer enquiries through [initially] offering rental," Cartwright says. s
