WORK ON the Perth Western by-pass gets underway soon and should be completed by late 1985.
The £2.95m contract has been awarded by Tayside Regional Council to Morrison Construction of Inverness.
Four kilometres (2.5miles) of dual carriageway trunk road will be built, bypassing Perth to the west between the roundabouts at Broxden and Almond Bridge.
The contract is the last to be let for the 28 separate schemes which make up the 127 miles of reconstructed A9.
