Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

KARRIER set up Truck Finance in 1982 specifically to offer finance on Renault and Dodge commercial vehicles. Truck Finance is jointly owned by Karrier Motors and North West Securities, a subsidiary of the Bank of Scotland.

General manager Peter Kells said that more than three quarters of Renault and Dodge dealers offer Truck Finance and that the company can "in most cases offer preferential terms and/or view a deal on the company's products more favourably".

Two months ago a "lease with maintenance finance" scheme was launched, available on all Renault and Dodge commercials over 3.5 tonnes.

Where HP is concerned Peter Kells said he sometimes questioned the insistence on sizeable deposits: "Finance companies are willing to do lease deals where there are no deposits at all." He said Truck Finance will do 0 per cent deposit HP for "blue chip" companies and the norm is 10-20 per cent.
