Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

RELIEF and contract drivers provided by Manpower UK will from now on come under a separate company in the Manpower group, known as Overdrive.

Lance Secretan, managing director of Manpower UK, said Overdrive would take over all the driving business previously handled by its parent company, and developed over 20 years.

The new company payrolls 800 drivers on average each week, numbers some 2,000 clients and projects a turnover in excess of £2million this year. National coverage is provided from some 63 offices.

Since 1972 Manpower has operated as an agency, supplying qualified drivers to work in the employ of its .clients.

This accords with the Transport Act 1968 which deems that the employer of drivers must hold an 0 licence and be the operator of the vehicles driven.

The separate development of Overdrive as a registered employment agency for driving services, will enable the group to consolidate and promote its mainstream business in commercial, industrial and technical services, with a clear identity as a work contractor.
