Industrial blower Ordnance Survey map

THIS y ear's edition of the route-planning Ordnance Survey map was published in January. A prominent feature of the map is the clear way in which it shows the main road communications. Motorways are shown in blue, with their proposed extensions, access points and service areas. Other trunk and class one roads are shown in red, and dual-carriageways are clearly defined. Class two roads are uncoloured. Densely built up areas are shown on a scale of 4 miles to the inch in several insets.

Included in the maps are details of sea and air ferry points, between-town-mileage charts, the sites of AA and RAC telephone boxes, areas of exceptional beauty, and national parks. The maps are corrected up to November, 1965.

Published by: Ordnance Survey, Leatherhead Road, Chessington; Surrey. Available from most booksellers, in two sheets—north and south.

ANEW pallet wall which allows a vehicle laden with walled pallets to be unloaded without first removing the unladen pallets is now being made by a new company called Transhandling Ltd.

The unit comprises three 3 in. by 8 s.w.g. mesh, metal-framed sides which are equipped with feet to locate inside the pallets. The sides are hinged together and when loaded on to a vehicle they are placed with the open side towards the rear.

When unloading starts the rearmost pallets are unloaded and the centre of the three panels is hinged to one side, thus providing through access to the next pallet and so on through the load. There is a comprehensive range of sizes and heights which will fit most of the pallets in use today. Made by: Transhandling Ltd., 141-149 Curtain Road, London, E.C.2.

Price: On application.
