Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

INDEPENDENT motor factors have become upset by Muttipart's pricing policy which is claimed to be unfair and non-profitmaking in many cases.

Multipart, which is Leyland's parts company, supplies replacement and remanufactured parts for 80 British and imported commercial vehicle models manufactured by 13 different companies at prices it claims "to match the best of the competition". Many of the components are obtained from original equipment sources while others are supplied by pattern makers.

Multipart claims that the size of its operation provides unequalled purchasing power but other factors say some items are being sold below the original purchase price and object to tax payers' money being wasted in what they see is a price cutting war.

A spokesman for Leyland disputed these allegations and said that the parts organisation of Leyland is a profitable operation with a sound commercial base. Multipart is the leader in its field and refutes any statement which implies that it is buying into the market.

FREIGHTLINERS has taken over responsibility for the HarwichZeebrugge container shipping service with effect from January 1. Previously Raiffreight had responsibility for the sea crossing and this division proved unsatisfactory. The company will continue to co-operate with its short sea container operators.
