ASUGGESTION that he should make regulations prohibiting the parking of vehicles-partrcularly ice-cream vans near schools was turned down by the Minister of Transport this week.
When the suggestion was put to hint in the Commons he said that the markings indicating that part of the carriageway outsde a school should be kept clear of stationary vehicles had been found to be generally effective.
