Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A DECISION to pull out of the distri

bution side of meat haulage front Smithfield market may be taken shortly by B.R.S. (Meat Haulage) Ltd. The possibility has been under discussion for some weeks, and meetings—including detailed talks with union representatives —are still going on; but January 1, 1965, has been mentioned in some sources as a likely date for a withdrawal, if the decision to pull out is confirmed.

If such a decision is taken it will affect only the 12 local c. and d, vehicles which B.R.S. operate from Smithfield to serve the retail trade; there is at present no suggestion that the trunk meat traffic might be affected.

The work of the 12 B.R.S. vehicles would be shared between the other existing Smithfield carriers.
