• Nightfreight will be looking for new drivers as it expands its operations. And it has announced trebled pre-tax profits from ,L539,000 to £1.35m for the first six months to 31 May (see box).
Since Nightfreight floated on the Stock Market in May, it has opened a new depot in Lincoln. making 39 on the network.
The company says it plans further expansion in Cheshire and the Scottish Borders.
Following the Liverpoolbased company's successful joint venture with Toga Freight of Ireland, resulting in Nightfreight (IRL), a local hub has now been established in Dublin.
And this month sees the official launch of an Irish Nationwide Super Overnight Service.
