• Traxess Reverse Alarm Control Switch enables reverse alarm sounders to be switched off as legally required from 23:30-07:00hrs. The volume can also be reduced in environmentally sensitive areas.

• Samsung has installed DPS's LogiX routeing and scheduling system to control its UK logistics. It says the system gives it the speed and flexibility to replace set vehicles on set runs with a core fleet and contract system.

High mileage

• Semperit claims its M470 successor to the Trans-Steel M270 tyre offers improved mileage due to its wider tread. Initially available in 295/80 R 22.5 and 315/80 R 22.5 sizes a 275/70 R 22.5 tyre is to be added shortly.

Matchbox security

• A matchbox-sized immobiliser for 12V systems is almost impossible to find and impossible to over-ride, according to UK importer Auto Marketing. The E.39 Easee system allows the engine to turn over but it will not fire up. A 24V version is in the pipeline.

Reversino aid

• Proximeter has launched a commercial version of its infra-red reversing aid. It has seven sensors and there is an external horn available to alert pedestrians.

Recommended retail prices start at £125 for vehicles less than 1.8m wide; £150 for larger vans and minibuses; and £210 for HGVs. The external horn is available for an additional £30.
