ffipped over, says the Consumers' Association, which is stepping up its campaign to suspend UK sales of the allegedly unstable SJ413 and SJ410 models (CM 28 July-3 August).
The association has compiled a dossier of 24 rollover incidents on British roads and claims that the cars turn over at 32krn/h when put through a Jshaped manoeuvre. Most cars can cope at 64km/h. Rachel Waterhouse, the association's chairman, acccuses the Government of an "unjustifiable delay" in failing to react.
Suzuki UK's chief executive, John Norman, dismisses the criticisms: "More than a million have been sold world-wide and there is no proven record of any problems," he says.
