luxury truckstop near Warrington, with swimming pool, sports hall and 100bed accommodation, will get a go-ahead.
Donaldson and Evans of Lymm, Warrington wants to build the truckstop on the M6-A50-M56 junction because it says its existing stop, minutes away, can only handle 2,000 of the 5,000 lorry drivers who want to use it every day.
The company has already been refused by the local council but it is confident that the inquiry, on 20-21 September, will reverse that decision. The new truckstop will have room for 400 lorries parked overnight, and will be able to handle as many as 5,000 vehicles a day.
