Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• CSL, the commercial vehicle hire and services group, is expanding its hire operation and moving into truck selling with two acquisitions worth a total of £1 million.

The group, which last week announced profits up 53% for the half year, is buying trailer rental company Intertrail of Avonmouth, !tying it its first outlets in the South West, and MAN-Volkswagen CV dealer Hensby of Wakefield.

It is paying £584,000 for Intertrail, which made a profit of £79,000 on a turnover of E342,000 in the year to June. The company runs 150 trailers from depots in Avonmouth and the West Midlands. Hensby, which recorded a £81,500 profit on £5.6 million turnover, is costing £418,700.

CSL chairman Jeff Chapman says the purchases reflect the group's commitment to expand its core business and to diversify into new, but related, sectors. The acquisition of Hensby will extend its Connect Europe CV services sector, as well as giving CSL its first truck dealership.
