assistant traffic managers with the Bristol Omnibus Co. and associated companies from September 1. Mr. Hodges is traffic superintendent (country divisions). Mr. Rootham is Bristol division traffic superintendent.
London Transport announces that D. F. Hudson has been appointed substation engineer with the rank of officer.
Further members of the Transport Users Consultative Committee for the North Eastern area are: K. R. Ashby, J. Brocklebank, Miss M. V. Howey. C. H. Jobling and Mrs. K. Ogle. R. A. Taylor, has been appointed a director of Mexborough and Swinton Traction Co. Ltd., and elected chairman in succession to F. K. Pointon, who has resigned owing to pressure of other business commitments.
Alex G. Muir has been given the responsibility for all manufacturer's sales of Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co. Ltd., replacing R. P. Roche who is retiring after 35 years with the company. Mr. Muir has been a member of the Firestone sales organization since 1955, and Mr. Roche has headed the manufacturer's sales division since 1956, being named to the board of directors last year. Highway Trailers (Great Britain) Ltd., has appointed Jerry Hooper as service manager. Mr. Hooper joined the company in 1963 as a design engineer.
J. Ratter has been reappointed to the British Railways Board for a further period of one year from January 1. A. R. Dunbar and F. C. Margetts leave the Board on December 31; so do part-time members F. Donachy and H. P. Barker.
OBITUARY We regret to record the death of Mr. A. E. Davis, 65, managing director and founder of Diesel Services Ltd., the Birmingham ERF distributors.
