report of Section 178 hearings at Kirkcaldy stated that the deputy Scottish LA, Mr. L. A. Wells, had said he was "setting himself up above the Sheriff who had had to decide whether the law had been transgressed". This, of course, should have read: ". . NOT setting himself up above the Sheriff".
The paragraph below this should have read: . Mr. Wells interjected: "Three months! If you are telling me that 700 offences in three months is not frequent, you will have to talk from now to Doomsday."
