Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Haulage went into administration after suffering fuel, vehicle and load thefts, CM has discovered. The Prestonbased operator appointed Mark Colman and John Titley of Leonard Curtis in February, shortly after an arrangement on the length of time for payment was turned down by HMRC. It had hoped to defer payment of £177,000. The administrator's statement of proposals showed that the firm owed creditors a total of £455,528. It said the haulier, which specialised in scrap metal and recycling haulage, fell into arrears after it was targeted by thieves on several occasions.

Its cashf low was hit when a vehicle and load were stolen, and the firm was forced to hire a night-time security guard after suffering a number of fuel thefts from its yard.

It also said the haulier was working on contracts that were no longer cost-effective due to the recession. The company ran eight vehicles and recorded a pre-tax loss of £43,826 between 31 July 2012 and 23 January, while turnover stood at £527,556.
