WEEK'S top used truck is a 2012-registered 4x2 Renault Premium 430DXi. Plated at 38,000kg, it has been mainly used to pull tandem-axle trailers.
It's powered by a Euro-5-rated 10.8-litre engine producing the aforementioned 430hp and 2,040Nm of torque.
Turning power into motion is a 12-speed ZF Optidriver automated transmission. Its single-bunk sleeper cab is equipped with electronically powered windows, a sun roof and sun visor.
There are 57,500km on the clock; it's still in warranty; and the new owner will be supplied with a new MoT.
It is being sold by Allports Truck Centre and the price is on application.
Although the market is flooded with 6x2 tractors, there is a small but significant trade in 4x2s. These tend to be used for parcels or voluminous loads and tend to have led an easy life, dragging the maximum GVVV up and down the motorway.
This truck has low mileage and is in good condition and, with Euro-5 sales ramping up, this is as good as buying a new truck.
