Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Group has decided to bring all of its fleet maintenance in-house. This includes the maintenance contract with Fraikin for its 5,000-strong rental fleet.

MD Steven Cartwright said the firm will have a dedicated fleet services department to handle the rental fleet and 1,000 trailers. "We will handle all our aftersales support with maintenance for the rental fleet and maintenance solutions for customers. We are bringing over 10 people from Fraikin under TUPE, and I envisage a team of about 30 people in fleet services," he said.

The transfer will be completed on 1 May. In the next three months Cartwright also plans to bring its 24-hour breakdown service, which is also carried out by Fraikin in-house.

The rental sector has expanded exponentially in recent times. "60% of trailers we build are leased on fiveor seven-year deals," he said. "This allows the firm to remarket or place the trailers into the rental fleet for a second life. We also look at 12-month lease deals knowing that, if the customer doesn't extend it, we can put that trailer back out with another customer."

He added that Cartwright will open a new rental and sales site in Glasgow, and is also looking to open a site in London.
