of about 2,000 vehicles, up from 580 two years ago, MAN Truck & Bus UK has another 900 vehicles on order this year for its rental operations, with only about half of those going into service as simple fleet replacements.
UK MAN Rental director Rael Winetroube said: "The economic outlook is pushing operators towards rental.
"We have our existing core business among large and medium operators, who have used MAN Rental to supplement their fleets when workloads demand, but we are seeing smaller customers coming through the door."
