The previous foray into the market above 7.5 tonnes saw a well-engineered and specified 18-tonne truck, held back by the lack of availability of a Euro-5 engine.
UK marketing director Keith Child confirmed that a Euro-6 drivel ine is now fully engineered and ready for sale. He added, however, that it won't be introduced until the pound to yen exchange rate allows for a competitive UK pricing structure.
As the current trend is in the direction of more favourable conditions, this is certainly not an unattainable ambition.
Moving further ahead, Child didn't rule out the possibility of multi-axle construction chassis one day making it to the UK, but, for now, it's one step at a time.
