Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Bosch has developed the Portable Multiscope, a batterypowered multirneter and twochannel oscilloscope that allows technicians to take diagnostic measurements with the vehicle on the move.

The VMS 100 multiscope is suitable for troubleshooting on a vehicle's electrical and electronic systems: it will operate with either spark ignition or diesel engines with up to eight cylinders and six, 12 or 24V electrics.

The system is simple to set up. Voltage and time scales are set automatically through builtin measurement functions including engine test, automated sensor and actuator test, digital oscilloscope and multimeter.

All the operator needs do is input the number of cylinders, whether the engine is diesel or petrol, the battery voltage and the type of ignition system.

A built-in information function allows queries to be made about the active measurement function being used.

After testing, data can be transferred easily to a PC for storage or a print-out.
