• Sisu Trucks of Finland has postponed its planned break into the UK market because the recession shows no signs of ending.
Sisu's vice-president Ismo Rautiainen had said that if sales were to begin in 1993, groundwork would have to begin now. The company has already taken British operators on a fact-finding visit to Finland and said that their views would decide whether it made an entry into the British market.
All returned impressed with the eight-wheel forward control rigid they drove, but Sisu chiefs were surprised by the scale of discounting here.
