being offered a new service. The BP ROAD (Routine Oil Analysis and Diagnosis) Service indicates the condition of engines, gearboxes, transmissions and hydraulics through the analysis of a small sample of the lubricant in use.
Customers can select which of the specially-designed test packages they require, for engine oil, gear oil or hydraulic oil, depending upon their equipment.
This sample can be put through a series of laboratory tests, including spectrochemical analysis, to check for potentially destructive chemical or metallic particles, contamination by water or unburnt fuel, and significant changes to the lubricant viscosity or acidity/alkalinity.
