• More than 7,000 wouldbe London Bus PSV drivers competed for 600 job vacancies following an aggressive marketing campaign (CM, 28 March). Between January and March, London Buses appointed 750 drivers — and received more than 13,500 telephone enquiries.
London Buses says: "We consider the campaign has been a great success and has certainly been cost effective."
Despite this, London Buses is still keen to appoint a further 260 drivers to overcome staff shortages.
