I don't know whether the juggernaut habit has hit the Antipodes yet, but let's hope not. There's probably a much more colourful Strine equivalent.

A reader in Darlington, South Australia, has sent me a clipping about an interesting truck 'whith he says is gaining popularity out there, especially as a tractor for interstate road trains.

It's a five-axle Atkinson rigid rated for 381 tons gross, a twinsteer model with three-axle twin-tyred bogie. Although the bogie axles are set close, I would think the tyre scrub is a problem.

The vehicle—model D408813— ,is an alloy-bodied tipper and has a Gardner 81.AB, a twinplate clutch and an RT915
