• NFC International, part of the employee-owned National Freight Consortium, has made a move into the Far East removal market in a joint venture with Shibusawa, Japan's fourth largest removal and distribution firm.
The new company, Pickfords-Shibusawa, will be 40% owned by NFCI and managed by the Japanese. It will concentrate on international and Japanese domestic removals.
NFCI already has stakes in two other Far East operations: Interport Pickfords in Singapore and Swire Pickfords in Hong Kong. The latest deal was concluded at the end of August and the new company is expected to begin operating in early 1988.
