BRECKNELL WILLIS is to build 10 light vans which are to be evaluated as part of a hybrid vehicle programme part financed by the Commission of the European Communities (ECE).
The vans which are powered by a combination of petrol and electric motors will be assessed in service by fleet operators.
The programme is to be undertaken by Hybrid Vehicles (United Kingdom) and monitored by the Electric Vehicle Development Group and the University College of Swansea.
The total programme, including a midibis assessment (see p12), is to cost £600,000 and a third of the cost will be provided by the ECE.
