JOHN KELLEND takes on an entirely new job in the SPD Group next week as its wine trade distribution business development manager.
He joined SPD in 1981 as a graduate of Birmingham University and joined the group management training scheme. During his period, he served as warehouse supervisor at Birmingham and as Debenhams account executive with Carryfast, SPD's express parcels division acquired from GKN.
He will be responsible for developing SPD's services for the retail wine trade, including import, warehousing and distribution services.
