Failure to send the ordinary driving licence with the application form is one of the common faults; the others are mainly attributed to carelessness in completing the questions and to an obvious failure to read the comprehensive notes which are provided on the form and in the booklet Heavy goods vehicle driver's licence issued free by the DoE. And if the number of these explanatory booklets issued by the Department is anything to judge by, no driver should be lacking information on the licence. Some 2+ million were issued in six months.
