Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MAIN frames at the outer extremities are a feature of a new range of semi-trailers which are being offered by M. and G. Trailers. of High Street, Lye, Worcs. They use Rubery Owen slipper-type suspension and 20,000-series axles, and can be plated for operation at from 20 tons to 30 tons g.t.w. according to model.

The main frames are constructed from 1-beam sections which measure 18 in. at their deepest point. and the cross-members also are of I-beam section but are 7 in. deep and are spaced at 18 in. intervals.

The company claims that this outboard mounting of the main frames follows U.S. practice and enables heavy loads to be carried across the full width of the platform without danger of outriggers or side rails being bent or otherwise damaged.

The Hope anti-jack-knife device is fitted as standard and other standard features are a wind-up spare wheel carrier, 2 ft. headboard and 14 in.-thick platform floor. Singleand tandem-axle models are available in lengths and widths to suit customers' requirements and three-line air braking can be specified. The new M. and G. semitrailers are known as the Flatbed series.
