BUSES of the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co. Ltd. may shortly be worked on the one-man principle in urban as well as rural areas, Officials of the company were due to Meet union representatives this week to discuss the extension of *one-man bus services " in face of the critical manpower shortage ". At the present time Midland Red is short of 800 drivers and 380 conductors, whilst 21 private hire coaches are helping to keep services going in the Black Country.
