TAS orders its first Renault T range

HEATHROW-BASED TAS Transport has placed one of the first orders with Renault Trucks for a Euro-6 T range tractor unit (model pictured at Commercial Motor Live earlier this month).
The Renault T460 in 6X2 configuration is fitted with a sleeper cab and will be delivered to the haulier in January 2014, via dealership Norfolk Truck and Van. It will be the fourth Renault truck to join TAS Transport's 50-strong, predominantly Mercedes-Benz fleet, since it took its first Renault Premium truck in May of this year.
The new truck will undertake long-distance operations on behalf of the Palletways network.
Terry Stevens, MD at TAS, said: "We have had nothing but positive feedback from our drivers regarding the new Premiums.
"Once we have had the new Renault T460 on the road for a few months we are looking to purchase two more trucks. We definitely see a future with Renault and, when the time comes, we will look to replace our rigid trucks with Renaults as well as the tractor units."
