Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DO YOU know what resources are available to you in the form of owner-drivers? Of course you don't, because a national database doesn't exist ... yet! We should have an agency big enough to supply owner-drivers who have been screened regularly on a self-billing system, — similar to that used in the container industry — which would give you a conscientious

employee who will care about your customer.

Owner-drivers have a rough deal, and there needs to be a system to keep them properly and gainfully employed.

In the container industry, owner-drivers are treated as second-class citizens and, in some cases, capped on the amount of work they get, in most cases by clerks who have preferences or favourites. All these guys should register for free with an owner-driver agency, getting offers of

contracts and other work on their email, so they can choose which sectors they wish to work in, rather than be frightened to stop what they do and then risk being left out in the cold. I want to create this agency for owner-drivers, and would like to hear from every interested party through CM. Dick Hawcutt Owner-driver

Ed's note: This sounds like a great idea, and we welcome any thoughts on such a scheme from readers.
