• Coach operators will have an opportunity to examine 1970 models at three exhibitions to be held by dealers during the next two weeks.
Tomorrow (October 18) Alf Moseley and Sons Ltd. opens an exhibition at its showroom adjacent to the company's Shepshed coachworks (close to M1 motorway, junction 23). Examples of the latest Plaxton and Duple coach bodies will be shown on Bedford'VAS, VAM, VAL, and SB chassis, together with Plaxton Derwent 47-seat express bus body and Willowbrook 45-seat express bus body, both built to MoT Standards on Bedford VAM 70 chassis.
Moseley Continental Coachwork Ltd. will also exhibit Sintra, Cascais and Estoril coaches on Bedford VAS, VAM 70 and VAL 70 chassis, respectively, together with a 51-seat Lisboa body on a Leyland Leopard. The exhibition will be open daily, 9.30 a.m. to 6 p.m., until Sunday, October 26, inclusive.
New Ford coaches and buses will be displayed by Luton Commercial Vehicles Ltd. at its Dunstable showroom from October 23-31, inclusive. Similar Plaxton and Duple bodies to those listed above will be shown on Ford R192 and R226 chassis, together with 12-16 seater p.s.v. conversions of the Ford Transit by LCM, Martin Walter, Strachan and Deansgate.
Also on show will be the London to Bombay Ford R192 with Plaxton Elite body and Ford turbo-engined demonstration vehicles.
For operators in the south and west, E. J. Baker and Co. (Dorking) Ltd., High Street, Bordon, Hants, will be holding its annual coach show from October 27-November 2, inclusive, 9.30 a.m. to 7.0 p.m. daily. The 1970 range of Duple and Plaxton bodies will again be on exhibition, mounted on Bedford chassis.
