Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS the result of a joint meeting with the A.R.O., C.M.U.A., London and Home Counties Haulage Contractors Association and the National Association of Furniture Warehousemen, and Removers, the following rates per hour were agreed, and are recommended to members for the hire of vehicles for contracts with the Post Office for Christmas hire in the Metropolitan area:—

All vehicles up to 250 cubic ft. capacity, 7s.; 251-350 cubic ft., 7s. 3d.; 351-550 cubic ft., 8s. 6d.; over 550 cubic ft„ 10s.

It was suggested that, in cases where , the daily mileage exceeded 50, an additional charge at the rate of 5d. per mile should he made for vehicles of a

capacity up to 350 cubic ft., 6d. per mile for vehicles of a capacity of 351550 cubic ft., and 8d. per mile for vehicles above 550 cubit ft.

For work on Sundays and Christmas Day, the above rates are to be increased by the extra amount which hauliers must pay in wages, subject, also, to a minimum of 51 hours, for which the operator must pay his driver if he turns out on those days.

This schedule was laid before the responsible authority by a deputation representing all the above associations, at the G.P.O., London, on Monday of this week. All hauliers tendering for this work are recommended to adhere to the above schedule as minima.
