• The dispute over working hours in the new arm's length division of London Buses, Suttonbus, has been resolved and the new-look service will now be officially launched at the end of this month.
The new introduction date set is 26 November — almost a month after the original debut date was set. Last month, the 200 staff working at Sutton bus garage turned down London Buses' revised working conditions, which included an extra two-and-a-half hours on to the average working week.
London Buses revised its working package which was p to the ballot at the garage las week and accepted by the tw thirds of the staff. London Buses says: "Under the revised conditions, there will bE changes in overtime and restday working. The basic wage rate has remained the same. Although earnings for Sutton bus workers will be below th■ London Bus average, the stal will receive earnings compensation every six months."
