"We regard the German !mocratic Republic as a sem, significant long-term tde partner," says Trade Minister Alan Clark. "There is a new determination to succeed in the GDR market, reflecting the new-found competitiveness of British industry internationally."
The GDR's commercial attaché in Britain, Dr Wilhelm Rudiger believes that road haulage in both countries will
prosper by the deal. "We are expecting a steady increase in trade so it will be necessary to transport more goods. In this context, the trucking industry must benefit," he told Commercial Motor.
The agreement is designed to expand trade links in a wide range of fields.
