A RANGE of subscription arrangements is being offered by the Lorry Driver of the Year Association after CM withdraws its sponsorship.

Contrary to the report in CM last week, two subscription rates will apply. Full members — those individuals involved closely in the organisation of the event and individuals who support its aim of increasing road safety — will be eligible for £5 annual membership.

Bodies such as manufacturers, trade associations, professional institutes and companies will be entitled to associate membership of £100 per year.

The Association is to form itself into a company limited by guarantee and anyone interested in applying for either form of membership should write to LDoY national secretary John Wells at 1 Stockbury House, Church Street, Storrington, West Sussex, RH20 4LD.

In a statement issued last week, CM'S publishing director, James Weymouth, said the decision to withdraw sponsorship from LDoY had been taken after this year's finals as the market objectives and circulation profile of CM do not necessarily coincide with those of the LDoY.

He promised that CM will continue to campaign on behalf of road safety and that it will report and take an interest in the success of future LDoY competitions.
